Voyager 1 & 2
The twin spacecraft Voyager 1 and 2 were launched on 5 September and 20 August 1977, respectively, and over the next 12 years visited Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Along the way many planetary satellites were observed, and new ones were discovered.
